I saw this guy live once in like 2003. He is amazing on video, just imagine being 4 feet from him during warm-up/mic check. He's a pretty good singer too, and does some funny "normal" songs... I've been trying to remember his name for years! I always tho0ught it was mike chapman because he played his guitar like it's a chapman stick. well now I know and I've found him on myspace. this isn't even one of his best songs!

This was a pretty boring performance to watch, if you ask me. The style is great, his ability to write in this style is a bit less than stellar. Kaki King, Jason King, Maxwell Hughes (a local favorite) and many others play a similar style to this. Check them out. In my opinion, it blows this out of the water.

His left hand is using a technique called "hammering on".
Think of a way that a hammer in a piano hits the strings, that's basically the same principle.
His right hand is using a combination of "Tambor" (hitting the strings in a chord sequence) and "tapping" which is sounding one string at a time.

Not hard to do but very hard to do to the standard shown here.

He's plucking past the nut at one point and the rest is tapping the strings at the fret.
