THAT´S AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like three people playing.
How can I get one of those?????

i’taking a wild guess here but i think in a good music store but its just a guess 0_o

No, these things are made in, I think Sweden by 2 guys and they only crank out a couple a year and they’re super expenseive. Look up hapi drum, it’s a cheaper alternative to this hang trum and it sounds pretty much the same.

These are cool. I just did a quick search on ebay and the closest I could find is this http://cgi.ebay.com/MILLTONE-Drums-SG-FR2-Steel-Tank-Tongue-Hand-Drum_W0QQitemZ320250711768QQihZ011QQcategoryZ622QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I have no idea how similar it sounds and it looks like comparing a motorcycle to an atv, but I thought I’d share.

Very excellent. I’d love to get my hands on a drum like this, the music it makes is so soothing and melodic. I love it…

wow this is pretty sweet!

very good idea!

Last year in Frankfurt Germany I was stopped dead in my tracks by a guy playing one of these. He was accompanied by a percussionist playing many small instruments. I watched them for some time, mesmerized by the sound. The arrangement had more African and techno influences than this song. I ended up buying the CD they were selling called “The Vibration of the Hang by Rafael Sotomayor” From the picture on the CD cover and what I remember, its quite likely this is him in the video. Here is whats described in the cover notes. “The hang (pronounced “hung”) was invented in 2000 in Switzerland by Felix Rohner and Sabina Scharer. In the Bernese language, the term “hang” refers to the human hand, as the instument is played with the hands. It is classified as an idiophone and its construction was inspired by the Caribbean steel drum and the Indian gatham. It consists of two hemispheres of gas-nitrided steel fixed together. The notes are tuned on the upper hemisphere; In the lower hemisphere there is a hand-sized hole, the so-called Gu. The instrument is played on the knees or on the floor. Seven to nine notes are harmonically tuned around a central deep note, the so-called Ding. This low note can excite the helmholtz resonance when it is played in a specific way. The frequency of the helmholtz resonance can be changed by varying the dimension of the hole with the knees. For detailed information on the instrument and its history please visit http://www.theartoffusion.com” I recorded several video clips on that street performance. Perhaps Ill find time to upload em.
